Ahh, the Full Moon. Sometimes it turns an already crazy situation seemingly worse. Then again, sometimes it's all in our heads and the moon's just an excuse to crank up the drama levels!

During this lunar cycle, I'm considering competition. I must admit, while I maintain a pretty calm and detached demeanor for the most part, I do have a tendency to get crazy competitive over everything — sports (I've always sucked at team sports, which is why I've relegated myself to table tennis or tennis where it's one man for himself!), grades, even quiz night. At first, it's all fun and games… until things on my end become extra serious, and all the pressure becomes too much for me. And when that happens, there's nowhere to go but down! Inevitable defeat.

Yes, a regular yoga and meditation practice has helped me calm the F down — at least enough to separate the fun from the pressure I tend to pile on top of everything. Awareness, here, is key. That tendency for me to turn something fun into something crazy competitive never disappears completely. I have to constantly remind myself not to let things get out of hand (full moon, or not).

What about you — do you ever let something that's supposed to be fun spin out of control until it takes over you (and not in a good way)? How do you deal?
