Let's dig deep into our emotions this New Moon, shall we?

Has your heart ever gone through such a beating that the emotional suffering becomes almost an out of body experience? Sometimes, I feel that trauma forces us out of ourselves so we don't have to deal with hurt 24/7 — we see ourselves as different entities, and we are able to step away far enough so we see our situations the way others do.

I don't think it's healthy to languish in pain all the time. It helps to switch our involvement in our emotional suffering off every once in a while in order to see things diplomatically. The King of Cups understands that he's got a lot going on in his heart space and it's not all good. But he's able to function well because he knows when to separate himself from all the drama and act diplomatically towards the situation, towards others and even towards himself.

When we're going through something major, emotionally, it's wise to get to know our pain intimately. It also helps to know it enough to step away from it so that we see our inner light, as the Hermit does.
