It isn't just during tarot readings with different clients that I meet people who are slightly intolerant of change. I have friends who stress out about disruptions in their daily routines (why! is! my! neighborhood! Starbucks! out! of! my! favorite! salad! today!); and buddies who know let the fear of change get in the way of Big Life Plans (moving to the other side of the world, reconciling with an ex, or even having kids).

If you can relate to any one of these scenarios, then you are being called to confront transformation. It's perfectly understandable, not wanting to change yourself—we create our own forts and build our safe zones so we can comfortably avoid the hassles that change can bring. We can resist change and try to skirt around it, but the truth of the matter is that transformation is inevitable. Clocks tick, day turns to night, the world runs through cycles, and so do we.

We have a choice to meet our transformations with unmoving resistance or to greet it with faith that everything will be okay. During this new moon, the cards invite you to consider opening yourself up to change not because you are a doormat to life or the people around you, to the Big Decision Makers or the Institutions that make the rules—but because you are willing to see yourself grow with the ebbs and flows that come with living.

Let's put a little bit of prayer and devotion—regardless of what you believe or don't believe in—and put out the intention that transformation will take us to meet new and surprising facets of ourselves.
