Here's a familiar scenario: You're stuck at your desk, knowing full well that your employer / boss / Entrepreneur To Do List is waiting on you to get things done. Technically, you know how to get results but Real Life is getting in the way. When a lot of stuff is happening outside the workplace— and I mean the kind of stuff that stirs up emotions in not-so-good ways — it can be extremely difficult to get back to business and just get on with your top priorities.

It's like being back in school and going through your first breakup. The pressure of graduation looms before you and you know you need to pull through to get the right grades, but alas… teenage heartbreak sets in and all the "important stuff" seems to disappear.

What to do when The Hierophant keeps bugging you about how you're "supposed" to act, but the 5 of Cups keeps washing you over with grief, wave after irrational wave?

Pull in some 7 of Wands energy. Don't mask the sadness or the grief, allow yourself to feel it. But don't drown in the woe. Allow your Musts and your To Do's to help you rise up to the present so that you acknowledge both your emotional body and your drive. Operate on wholeness by using the grit, the determination and the fiery perseverance of the 7 of Wands.

Work can be a positive way out of a bad emotional run. Whether you look at it as a temporary distraction or a motivating push, it can help you find your way through the Doldrums.

Cheer up this New Moon, folks! And let's navigate our way through our challenges the best way we can.
