Holiday Reading: Good Cheer
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, folks!
Whether you're celebrating religiously or are just happy to get a break from work, now's as good a time as any to separate ourselves from the humdrum and get merry. Christmas in the Philippines starts as early as September, so I've been getting into the spirit of things for a couple of months now. Regardless of what this time of year means to you—if it means anything at all—it's always good practice to step back, take a pause, and do some tarot introspection.
- Whether you get a long break or are just happy to fit in some extra bed time now that it's the weekend, pay attention to your dreams. They hold a wealth of information that can point us to amazing discoveries in our waking hours. Get a pen and paper ready by your bedside, or have your phone next to you. As soon as you wake up, write down what you remember of your dreams, whether they make sense or not. Revisit your record a few days later and try to notice any patterns that crop up—anything you can relate to what's going on while you're up and about.
- Giving and receiving—they make the world go round. Christmas gets a lot of flak for commercialism and consumerism. For a moment, let's go beyond the material and consider what you can give of yourself to others. What would you like to receive?
- Have some holiday fun. You don't need to tie yourself down to stuffy traditions just because it's what done. How can you inject a little bit more happiness into your holiday?
