31 Days of Tarot: Days 25 to 31
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, ALL!
Here's to ending the year with the last leg of Ethony's 31 Days of Tarot challenge. Woohoo! Catch up on the other Q&A's here.
Day 25. What was the most dramatic / meaningful reading you ever did? (not necessarily the most accurate) No real names and trust your intuition with sharing information, please.
Tears have become a part of many readings I've done, for better or for worse… and this was even before I started reading professionally. I believe clients get only as much as they put into a reading. The more invested you are in finding answers, the more they'll reveal themselves to you.
Day 26. Have you ever regretted a particular reading, either for yourself or for another?
When I wasn't quite sure how to draw boundaries between myself and a client, YES. It's a constant lesson for me, knowing when, where and how to draw the line so I don't feel taken advantage of.
Day 27. Do you have a special time and / or place that you use your tarot? If so, do you reserve the deck specifically for that purpose?
For myself, I usually read at my desk or in bed—preferably before going to sleep and with a scented candle lit. I use whatever deck I feel like! I usually meet up with clients at coffee shops in and around my neighborhood.
Day 28. Does anyone you know not agree with your tarot practices?
Not that I know of :) My friends and family are very supportive.
Day 29. Do you have a tarot mentor? Who are they (in relation to you) and how do they inspire you?
Tons, on and offline! Check them out:
- Robert Rubin / Mysterium Philippines. Rob's one of the country's premiere readers. He's a great teacher too who's got all his students' backs.
- Elle North. She was the first ever teacher I had and hers was the first ever online course I participated in.
- Kelly-Ann Maddox. Whipsmart, generous, and so well-spoken—her tarot trainee course is sublime. I mean, who hasn't heard of the tarot reader formerly known as The Four Queens?
Day 30. Do you practice any other forms of divination? If so, what are they, and do you use them alongside the tarot as to gain more information and insight or as something entirely separate?
No. I don't really use the tarot as a divinatory tool.
Day 31. Pull some cards for [January 2017] for yourself and share.
