Full Moon: Guard Your Inspiration
Have you ever had an idea seemingly "stolen" away from you? It can be frustrating to have had that Oprah light bulb moment while in the shower one second, and have it glaring right back at you on someone else's Instagram feed the next. It's pretty impossible these days to ignore the fact that nothing is ever 100% original. Inspiration is everywhere, after all… and the lines between your own creative wellsprings and others brain farts can be very, very blurry.
That said, it wouldn't hurt you to be a little more protective, a tad more alert about your creative sparks. What might seem like a random idea now can turn into the seed of a business tomorrow. A throwaway concept you and your friends are discussing could be the next big startup. (Believe me, my friends and I thought we'd come up with the shared driving / carpooling idea back in 2000… we could have started Lyft if we just waited a little longer!).
This Full Moon, consider keeping guard of your bright ideas. Keep them under lock and key in a password protected document on your computer. Write them down in a journal buried deep in your drawer. Share with only your most trusted, and be wise about where and when you talk about these bursts of inspiration.
