New Moon: Shake Off Regret
Is anyone else kind of shocked that we're already at this month's New Moon cycle? 🌚 Crazy, how time flies these days!
This season, my card pulls speak heavily about Regret and how we can sometimes deal with it. Using two of my circus-themed decks (you can read my review of both the Circo and Zirkus Magi decks here), I'm able to pull some advice for a feeling I'm all too familiar with. Sometimes, I feel like I've fully moved on from embarrassing and idiotic (TBH) situations I've gotten myself into. I can put a certain conversation from years ago behind me, and then suddenly, something jogs my memory and OMG, I am filled with regret. Just like the woeful Charlie Chaplin crying over all those spilled buckets of water in the photo.
Sometimes, I wallow in the absurdity of my words, actions and even non-action, and that just sends me into a rabbit hole of regret. Not a good feeling, really—especially when you're already years past a certain experience. One of the most useful tarot archetypes to pull from when this happens is The Chariot. Zoom away from that memory and remember that while you are powerless against things that have happened in the past, you have full control of your present. And the only regrettable thing about this is if you don't take hold of the Now that the Chariot speaks of.
When regret hits, let it give you a little stumble, sure… but move onward and upward and know that you hold the reins of TODAY. A little regret can be humbling and can put us in our place, but let's not forget that we need not stay perpetually helpless.
Hope this helps you out during this moon cycle, folks. This is definitely a lesson I need to tell myself every now and then and I'm hoping it'll be good for someone else out there too!
