Tarot Diary: All the Cards I Drew When I Got the Corona Virus

Yup, I got covid-19.

All my routines flew out of the window when I was isolated for two weeks and when I was bogged down with mild symptoms, except for one thing: my daily tarot draws with the Practical Magic Starter Deck.

I felt mostly fine (and am extremely thankful for that), although the few symptoms I had really zapped me of my energy. I closed up the PM Shop and my reading offerings because the most I could do was pull just one tarot card for myself every morning and write a few sentences about it in my PM Diary.

As of writing, I’m on my fifth day of “recovery” (past the 14 days of isolation). Our barangay advises seven additional days of quarantine past that, just to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy… and to be honest, I’ve gotten really used to holing up in my room.

I thought I’d share with you my covid-19 story as told through the lens of my tarot pulls. It’s interesting to go through all the cards one by one and see how they reflected all the changes I was going through. I hope this post helps anyone, too, who’s contracted the virus or anyone who’s got loved ones in peril.

Let’s stay safe, wear masks, wash our hands, and have faith, everyone! <3

I hope this peek into my diary gives you a sense of comfort—that your tarot deck and intuition can support you in crazy uncertain times, that sometimes we get the lucky end of the deal, and that we can ride anything out if we’re mindful.

My daily draw practice helped me record my thoughts, figure out my feelings, and allowed me to document this wild, wild time with lots of self-awareness. Maybe it’ll inspire you to start your own tarot diary too.

*PS: I talked about my covid story in length in my newsletter—where you’ll find most of my updates, thoughts, and off the cuff stories (plus a PM podcast exclusive to subscribers). If you want to hear more from me (and aren’t tired of my prattling over here!), do subscribe :)
